Next Tuesday, October 22 at 2:30 PM, Marta Menci from the CoserityLab will be a guest speaker at the IAC General Seminars. The seminar, titled Simulating Crowd Dynamics: from low to high-density scenarios, will be held in hybrid mode: in person, in the classroom on the first floor of the Rome office (via dei Taurini 19), and online (see link below).

Menci will present her recent results on modeling and simulations of collective behaviors in pedestrian dynamics. The focus will be on a novel distance-based, discrete-time model designed to simulate crowd behavior at a microscopic level, overcoming the limitations of the well-known social force model. This innovative approach reproduces self-organizing patterns and material waves in high-density scenarios, offering greater accuracy for practical applications.
